Obituary of Renee M. Carlson
Renee M. Carlson, age 90, lost her battle with Alzheimer's disease on February 4, 2019. Born on March 27, 1928 in Jamestown, NY, she was the youngest daughter of Axel and Ada (Johnson) Carlson, immigrants of Sweden. Renee married Roger Carlson, the love of her life, on May 15, 1948, and together raised three children in LaFayette, NY. Having a deep love for her family, Renee always enjoyed bringing her children back to Jamestown to spend time with her extended family. She also enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting, bowling, spending time with her lady friends, anything red, watching birds, especially hummingbirds, and all the pets she had through the years, especially Miss Kitty. She was happy just being in her own home. Renee was hired as a bookkeeper for the Mondore Auto Auction in 1967 and cherished her friendship with the Mondore family.
Renee was predeceased by her husband, Rod, of 51 years. She is survived by her two daughters, Katherine (Mark) Bishop, and Lori (Bill) Lawless; one son, Jeffrey (Cindy Beck) Carlson; and 5 grandchildren, Gwennan Carlson, Erin (Christian) Juergens, Hannah Carlson, Morgan Lawless and Cameron Lawless. Special thanks to Renee's wonderful caretakers- Patty Lopes, Beth Ortlieb, Tamica Ali, Dawn Memory, and Katie Macie.
A celebration of life will be held on May 18th at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home in LaFayette. Calling hours from 11:00-1:00, with a service at 1:00 and burial at LaFayette Rural Cemetery. Honor Renee by wearing something red. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
