Obituary of Edwin G. Christoffel, Jr.

Edwin G. Christoffel, Jr., 60, of Lafayette, NY passed away on September 6, 2019. He was born September 1958, in Lafayette- where he lived most of his life. Eddy worked as a beloved custodian at Lafayette Junior/Senior High School for over 17 years. He took great pride in his work, and he thoroughly enjoyed his interactions with all of the staff and students to which he served. As a child and into adulthood, Eddy spent many vacations with his family enjoying the water and fishing in Daytona Beach, Florida, as well as Tuscarora Lake in Erieville, NY. Eddy was a very kind individual who would do anything for anyone without a second thought. He was very social and enjoyed chatting and laughing with anyone he encountered. His family was a source of great pride for him, and he spoke about them often to his friends at work. Eddy’s kindness and humility will have an enduring impact, and he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him best. He is survived by: his father Edwin Christoffel, Sr.; siblings Christine DeWolfe and Glenn (Megan) Christoffel; four nieces; one nephew; three grandnephews; and two grandnieces. He is predeceased by his mother, Nancy Christoffel, his nephew Frederick Passett, Jr., and his sister Mary Jane Scammell.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 11 from 5 to 7 pm at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home in LaFayette. Burial will be private.
